Founded by Rachel Mavrothalasitis and Lauren Rowley in the spring of 2024, Rooted Ventures San Diego started as a circle of 10 women seeking to learn more about values-aligned investing.
Since, it has grown into a community of over 120 individuals sharing opportunities and inspiring one another with their entrepreneurship, money moves, and impact oriented careers.
Who We Are
Rooted Ventures San Diego is a collective of builders, backers, and investors who move private capital into values-aligned investments and institutions.
What We Do
We build real connections, align our values with our approach to angel, impact, and local investing, and surface opportunities for San Diego’s impact investors, entrepreneurs, nonprofit leaders, and innovators.
Where We Focus
We focus on opportunities across gender equity, affordable housing, climate innovation, tech, health, and small businesses based in San Diego County.
How We Gather
We meet once a month in-person to build relationships, and as-needed online to learn, exchange ideas, and move qualified opportunities forward.
